For generations the Bortolin family has been located in the north east of Italy, a land of fine craftsmanship, stone cutters, masons and mosaicist.
This Region is filled with some of the greatest treasures from the Roman era to the Venetian republic, treasures which show the pride in the culture for fine materials, craftsmanship technique, talent and dexterity.
In the last 100 years these Italian artisans have been called in from all over the world to help out with some of the most known work such as Mount Rushmore to mosaicists of the school of Spilimbergo, which continues to create prestigious work of art around the world.
This is the air that Mauro has breathed since birth. His father Celestino and his brothers work across the region with dedication and passion laying tiles. They are known to work with a vast range of materials maturing a knowledge and understanding of the trade which in turn gives them a stronger competitive edge in the market.
Mauro worked along with the family business and tradition and went to the Friuli school for mosaicists, studying further usage of material and techniques to learn all of the secrets of the trade. He then continued to work for years alongside his father and once he had gained enough professional experience and talent, he decided to bring his trade down under to find a new challenge and start his new venture.
